Providing strength to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disorder found mostly in boys. Due to a mutation on the dystrophin gene, Duchenne leads to progressive weakening of the muscles. Those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy typically lose the ability to walk around their early teens, with the muscles in their upper extremities failing into they their mid-teens, followed lastly by failure the most important muscle, the heart. Those with DMD typically do not survive their mid-twenties. There is no cure......yet.
